With much unwelcome news already crowding back in to our lives let’s bask just a little longer in happy reflections of last weekend’s wonderful celebrating and camaraderie!

Street parties on Thursday enjoyed probably the best of the weekend’s weather, and how fabulous under warm June sunshine to spend time with our neighbours.

Many of the local celebrations were due to coincide with the Big Jubilee Lunch on Sunday, when people across the country were encouraged to get together “to share friendship, food and fun with neighbours” as part of the jubilee celebrations.

And so Lymington’s Picnic in the Park along with lots of other local picnics took place under ever darkening clouds – but fortunately the heavens waited at least until the middle of the afternoon to open and drench those of us still revelling!  Scroll down to check the list of winning raffle tickets – some of the prizes haven’t yet been claimed! The raffle raised  under £6,000 which will now be shared equally between Rotary Club of Lymington, Lymington Community Centre and Compass Counselling which is the Mayor’s chosen charity for this year.
